Despite the sweltering weather of the Emirates, UAE has no lack of outdoor excursions which you can enjoy with your friends, family, or even on your own – especially if you’re a fitness enthusiast and have a regime to follow. With their aim to promote a healthier lifestyle in UAE, the Government of Dubai has been building many biking paths to encourage bike riding, which has been growing in popularity in the country.
One of these tracks is the Nad Al Sheba cycle park. Formerly a camel racing track, the location has now been revamped into a family friendly cycling park. With choices that offer paths of 8km, 6km, and 4km for both – running and cycling, the park is a great place to spend an evening out if you want to take your kids to a cycling excursion, or if you want to follow your exercise routine.
Equipped with all the necessary facilities, including restrooms, showers and lockers, Nad Al Sheba also has lights to assist bikers after sundown, but we do recommend that you have lights on your bike on, just for safety reasons. Perfect for bikers and cyclists of all ages and abilities, the park also offers a breathtaking view of downtown Dubai.
And if you’re a serious cyclist, you can even join the Dubai Roadsters. The club has been active for over 17 years, with members of all ages and abilities. The cyclists are to bring their own major equipment, but they do have safety rules and regulations which every cyclist has to follow.
