Dubai Residents and Tourists travel guidelines – Update 7

  • All the passengers travelling outside Dubai must ensure about all the medical requirements and restrictions of the destination country. Travelers must check TIMATIC about all important information like whether a PCR test certificate is required upon arrival in the country you are traveling to.
  • Travelers to Europe, except to the UK and Greece, must consult Consulate General 0f the destination country for approval.
  • All the passengers traveling outside Dubai to UK or Europe Union must take a PCR test for COVID-19 within 96 hours before departure. The test report will be needed to present at check-in
  • No approval for travel is required from Dubai government to leave Dubai by the residents of Dubai.

Dubai Residents

  • All the travelers entering Dubai must carry a COVID-19 PCR test certificate with negative results. The test must be done within 96 hours before scheduled departure. The condition is not applied to passengers with severe disability or below the age of 12 years.
  • Dubai residence visa holders travelling back to Dubai must carry return approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA). They can complete the application on the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) website before booking their flight. Passenger will require GDRFA Application Number to complete their flight booking.

  • In the procedure of GDRFA application you will be needed to enter the Resident File Number. The number is present on the visa under file.
  • The application status will be available on GDRFA website. If the application is approved, passenger will receive an email with a GDRFA reference number. If the application can’t be processed at the time of the request, they can try again after four days.
  • Passenger must have health insurance which is to be shown at check-in or they will have to bear the costs for treatment and isolation if required.

Tourists

  • All the travelers entering Dubai must carry a COVID-19 PCR test certificate with negative results. The test must be done within 96 hours before scheduled departure. The condition is not applied to passengers with severe disability or below the age of 12 years.
  • For passengers applicable for Visa on arrival or travelling through pre arranged Visa can enter Dubai only as per the operational ability of the departure destination airport. GDRFA approval is not needed from Dubai Immigration for passengers to travel.
  • Depending on the passenger nationality they can get a visa on arrival, or they can apply for their visit visa from Dubai Immigration before they travel.
  • Passengers must carry a hard copy of COVID-19 negative certificate in English/Arabic language. No soft copies will be accepted.

  • If the test result is negative, they can leave their hotel and enjoy their trip as normal.
  • If the test result is positive, they must follow the advice of the Dubai Health Authority and stay in self-isolation.
  • All the passengers require to show COVID-19 negative report from government authorized lab. No soft copy of the result will be accepted.
  • All travelers from below mentioned countries will have to undergo a PCR test and remain in isolation until the results are out.
  • In case of positive test results, passengers will be subject to isolation. They must have COVID-19 DXB App in their smartphones.
  • All travelers to Dubai, inclusive of connecting flight passengers must complete this health declaration form and submit it to the staff at check-in. This form will also be available at check-in.
  • Passenger traveling to Dubai as their final destination must fill the quarantine undertaking form provided on board. This form will have to be submitted to the Dubai Health Authority staff on arrival.
