Feel the history in the walls Stown Town and its buildings are full of history and stories of the ancient times when Sultans, Arabs, Europeans and Zanzibaris wrote the history of this beautiful island. You will visit the Anglican Cathedral and the Slave markets, the Palace of the Sultans, Tip Tip’s House, the Old Arabic Fort, Forodhani Park and of course you will see many of the famous Zanzibar Doors while walking in the petite streets. We will show you Henna Art and bring you to the fruit and vegetable market.

Excursion: Prison Island (Half day Tour)
The name of Prison Island derives from its initial function as a prison established in 1893. However, it served primarily as a quarantine hospital and now houses a population of giant tortoises, which were once prohibited from residing in Stone Town. A 30-minute boat journey affords you a picturesque glimpse of the Stone Town Skyline before reaching Prison Island, where your guide will furnish you with its history and acquaint you with the majestic creatures that inhabit it.

Excursion: Spice Tour (Half day Tour)
During your tour of our community-supported Spice Farm ZITO, you will have the opportunity to explore the wealth of spices found on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Our farm boasts a variety of spices, from cinnamon trees with three different flavors to lemongrass, cloves, and nutmeg trees. In addition to learning about the different spices, you will also have the opportunity to discover the Swahili way of cooking, indulge in fruit tasting with our homegrown seasonal fruits, and purchase fresh spices directly from the farm. For your safety and comfort, we provide Zanzibar masks for covering your mouth and nose during the tour. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm and sharing our passion for spices with you.

1000 HANDS OF ZANZIBAR NORTH

Excursion: 1000 Hands NORTH (Half day Tour)
On this tour we will take you to places where you will understand the 1000 Hands of Zanzibar. You will visit the fish market of Mkokotoni, you will see how the locals make nails for their dhows, you will see how palm tree leaves are used to make baskets, hats, mats, etc.; you will see how Zanzibaris build new dhows and repair old dhows, you will also see how the famous Zanzibar doors are made. You will see the turtle sanctuary in Nungwi and you will see a typical village of Zanzibar and how they live in mud houses. We will show you the real and normal everyday life of a typical Zanzibari and what they do with their hands, it is incredible.

1000 HANDS OF ZANZIBAR South

EXCURSIONS :1000 Hands SOUTH (Half Day)
Join us on a remarkable expedition to explore the "1000 Hands of Zanzibar" in the southern region of the island. Our itinerary begins at Makunduchi, where you will witness the fascinating process of creating rope from decomposed coconut husks, which is then utilized in crafting boats, beds, and chairs. Subsequently, we will proceed to the Seaweed Centre in Paje, where you will gain insight into the planting, cultivation, and production of seaweed for oils, soaps, and other items. Along the way, you will also observe local mud houses and encounter typical Zanzibaris engaging in their daily routines, showcasing the extraordinary abilities of their hands.

TUMBATO ISLAND

Excursion: Half day Tumbato Tour
Tumbatu Island, a hidden gem of Zanzibar, is known for its mystique and requires special permission to enter. The Watumbatu community lives without cars or scooters, and maintains their traditional way of life. At Jongowe Beach, watch locals handcraft fishing gear and visit Jongowe School to learn about the village's history and Baobab trees. You'll see the contrast between old and new parts of the village and visit a fisherman's family home. Tumbatu is also renowned for its witchcraft.

JOZANI & BUTTERFLY BUTTERFLY CENTER & JOZANI FOREST

Excursion: Jozani Forest & Butterfly Center (Half day Tour)
Immerse yourself in nature's tranquility as you feed and observe butterflies soaring in close proximity. The Butterfly Center is a women's empowerment and childcare support initiative. Embark on a guided expedition through the jungle to discover the distinctive Zanzibar monkey species, which lack opposable thumbs. Following the forest excursion, a brief jaunt to the opposite end of the national park provides the chance to explore the enchanting realm of the Zanzibari Mangroves.
