Movie Sets You Can Visit During Your Europe Trip

We all get emotionally attached to our favorite movie locations and dream about visiting them in real life. And to think of it, you can definitely make your dream come true because there are many famous movie sets you can visit during your trip to Europe. And to save you some research time, we’re bringing you some movie set locations you can visit during your Europe trip.

Basildon Park – Pride and Prejudice/Downton Abbey:

Basildon park appeared as Netherfield Park in the famous Pride and Prejudice movie. It has also appeared in The Duchess and Marie-Antoinette. This park is located in Berkshire, England and was built between 1776 and 1783. The infamous TV series, Downton Abbey was also filmed here. That got your attention, didn’t it? So, all Pride and Prejudice and Downtown fans can make their UK trip memorable by visiting this palace.

Fast and Furious 6, South Bank:  

South Bank is one of the most famous movie locations in London, UK. Aside from the blockbuster movie Fast and Furious, it has also been featured in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Thor, Thunderbirds, Love Actually, Fat boy and Run. Who would not like to visit this place and make some fast and furious memories!

Cambridge University – Sherlock Holmes (Movie):

Cambridge university is one of the oldest university of UK and home to the sets of Sherlock Holmes, Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Chronicles Of Narnia. If you are great fan of the Sherlock movies, visiting this university will surely excite you and make your trip amazing!

Cathedral Cave – Snow White and the Huntsman:

This cave is located in Hawkshead, a beautiful small village. This town is very small but has a rich history because it was once home to famous poet William Wordsworth. Cathedral Cave is also known as Cathedral Rock. This 40 foot cave was used in Snow White movie starring Kristen Stewart and also in the Huntsman (2012). And it’s not just a famous movie set but also has a rich history attached to this place, so history lovers might love to visit this place too.

The Village of Shere – The Holiday:

Shere is located near London. It’s a beautiful small English Country Village where Kate Winslet’s movie “The Holiday” was filmed. That little cottage they showed in movie was just created for shooting purposes, but you can visit this beautiful village where their sequence was filmed. People who love village life and want to explore the European countryside can make this a go-to destination while travelling to Europe.

Osterley – The Dark Knight Rises:

Osterley, a Georgian country house, was used in The Dark Knight Rises as the Wayne Mansion. Scenes from the Young Victoria, Miss Potter and Edge Of Love were also shot here. The library in this huge house is really a cherry on top for book lovers. So all you Batman fans, add this place in your Europe trip list!

Skellig Michael Island – Star Wars VII and VIII:

Remember Star Wars – The Force Awakens? Especially that one scene where Ray meets Luke? Fans of this movie might know that the particular sequence was shot in this beautiful Island of Ireland. While the movie might tell you that it was located in a galaxy far, far away, you can visit it and experience the beauty of the location Luke chose for his exile from the Force, and later the place where he died.

Europe sure is a favorite for movie directors, and these destinations aren’t enough. A lot of famous movies have been shot in a lot more locations around the continent, including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mission Impossible, and a lot more.
